T-SHIRT OR DRESS.

t-shirt / dress: sportsgirl
flip flops: factorie (old)
necklace: sportsgirl

It is slightly on the short side, but this t-shirt from Sportsgirl, doubles as a dress and was perfect on a scorching hot afternoon (yesterday) and the muggy humidity today. I fell in love with it the minute that I saw it in Sportsgirl (as I typically do with all of the pieces from their range) and purposely bought it a few sizes bigger so that I could wear it alone as a dress, or as a t-shirt. I must quickly add that this is a strictly at home dress, and I would never leave the house in something this short. Unless it was a 40 degree plus day and I really needed ice cream, I'd make that my only exception.

I've had a really relaxing day today, without feeling guilty about my upcoming exam. I'm off the mindset that it's important to all yourself time to relax and breathe, rather than study non-stop. I find if I allow myself some me time while I'm studying I can focus more during study time. So today I spent the day reading and blogging. Bliss.

WHAT I WORE TWO DAYS AGO.

t-shirt: sportsgirl
disco pants: river island
shoes: ninewest
necklace: diva

I'm sorry that I'm posting Sunday's outfit on a Tuesday - I've been so busy with work, exam preparation and life in general and have really neglected my blog, instagram and twitter over the past week. I just haven't been feeling 'it' and have been preferring to get lazy on the couch with my kindle in my spare time, than blog. I'm also feeling very meh about my wardrobe, especially now that the weather has started to get hot. There are only so many days I can wear my favourite shorts or skirt before I get bored with them. Hopefully a look around the city for some summery dresses will perk me up a bit.

Something that I don't feel meh about right now are chunky chains. I picked up this one recently and love the girly yet grungy chunky feel that it has. It makes me feel ultra glam too, and perks up my simple outfit. I'd really love to grab a few more, in varying thicknesses and lengths and layer them up for an ultra glam, chunky, neck-fest.

WHAT I WORE YESTERDAY.

t-shirt: sportsgirl
disco pants: river island
shoes: ninewest
necklace: lovisa

I absolutely love this collar necklace with a scoop neck tee. It's super simple, but I feel like it finishes the outfit off and transforms it from baggy basic to glam grunge. I also really love these River Island disco pant dupes (as if you didn't already know that though!) and after wearing them rolled up at the bottom I don't think I can ever wear them not rolled up again. Rolling them up slightly makes them so so much more flattering on me and also glams them up a little, so they look less like leggings and more like pants.

JUST A QUICK SNAP.

I took this snap of myself in the reflection of the french doors while I was taking outfit snaps earlier in the week. I love the photograph so I though I'd share it on here.

PUMPKIN PIE A LA AUSTRALIA.

The coveted Pumpkin Pie is a delicacy that (until yesterday) I'd never tasted - Halloween here is relatively low key, and it's usually shrimp on the barbie and pavlova for Christmas Lunch. I'd been seeing Instragram snaps, blog posts and tweets about spice pumpkin latte's, carved pumpkins, and similarly themed pumpkin pies and after drooling all over my keyboard I thought I'd try my hand at pumpkin pie. I love the flavours, the spice and custard together, and the soft, cool texture of the pie. I'll be making this regularly over summer as it's perfect on a balmy night with a swirl of fresh cream.

Most recipes (this is the one that I used) suggest canned pumpkin puree, but I decided to use fresh pumpkin, and puree it myself. I chose to use a Queensland Blue pumpkin as they have a higher water content, are sweeter, and have a less stringy texture as normal pumpkins. To make your own pumpkin puree, peel and chop pumpkin - the smaller the pieces are, the easier (and quicker) they cook and mash - and steam for half an hour before pushing the pumpkin through a sieve using the back of a spoon. I do a couple of pieces at a time as it's easier to manage and stops the mess getting out of control.

I love a good helping of fresh cream with any dessert but this pie is so devine I can't even be bothered to cut it, and have been eating it forkfull by forkfull straight from the pie dish.

STUDY, BAKE, TWEET. REPEAT.

t-shirt: sportsgirl (old)
skirt: asos (old)
shoes: ninewest
necklace: lovisa

Another piece from the basic's range from Sportsgirl. This black t-shirt more than a few seasons old, but I like the grungy fade that it has now, and it gives a bit of depth to an otherwise all black outfit. It fits me like a glove and weirdly, I find myself pulling it out of my wardrobe during S/S more than the cooler months. I'm very much an A/W girl (I love the clothes, the textures, the food, everything) and I've never really loved florals and bright colours. But, having said that, my favourite piece of clothing at the moment is a skater skirt - something I never thought I'd wear. This S/S I'd like to work some florals and brights into my wardrobe, as well as experiment with prints and patterns.

THE WALKING DEAD.

tee: sportsgirl
skirt: asos (old)
necklace: lovisa
flip flops: factorie (old)

Another easy, fuss free study outfit for me today as I get stuck into my exam revision. I love this basic black and white skirt and t-shirt combination, and apart from being super comfortable, it feels clean and crisp, which I'd say is my style to a tee. The t-shirt become slouchier each time I wear it - today it's spent half of the day slouching off my shoulder - and with each wear I love it a little bit more because of this. As the weather warms up I'll be leaning towards loose fitting, baggy, slouching this way and that way tops and dresses because, after 13 summers I still cannot get used to the Australian sun.

I'll probably change my t-shirt before dinner as I'm planning on eating a ridiculous amount of thai food with my housemates tonight and it always gets all over whatever I'm wearing. Absolutely cannot wait for dins. I promise to Instragram it all.

SUNBURNT AND MOODY.

peplum top: sportsgirl
skirt: asos (old)
necklace: sportsgirl (old)
flip flops: factorie (old)

I'll make this a quick post as I'm sun burnt, and ridiculously tired even though I've had two good nights of sleep. If I was hungry right now I'd turn into something resembling Godzilla. I'm not a happy chappy when I'm sunburn, tired, or hungry. At all.

After a long shower this morning I popped on this peplum top that I bought from Sportsgirl recently that hasn't had as much love as I'd like it to have. I love the dressed down peplum, and think it looks great paired with this (trusty) ASOS mini and (just as old and trusty) flip flops. I've also been a bit sneaky (and lazy) and gone sans bra today and just worn a bandeau style bra underneath. I tend to do this alot over summer when it's hot and I all can be bothered to wear is a bandeau and a slouchy dress.

OUTFIT REPEATING.

jacket: dotti
tee: sportsgirl
skirt: general pants
boots: myer
necklace: bahaus

I know this outfit is the same as Tuesday's, but it's just so comfortable and easy to wear., and the layers make it great for those days when the weather changes every few hours. I had the outfit on as it is in the pictures above at lunch time, but by 7pm when I left university I was sans jacket and scarf as it was really warm.

I've only blogged two outfit's this week - and they're almost the same - because I've been in hyper study mode so really haven't been wearing anything you'd want to see. While I'm staying at home, studying, and mooching around the house I probably won't post as much as it'd get really boring, really quickly. As soon as my exams are done I'll be in hyper christmas mode (my favourite time of year!) and my blog will probably be craft, DIY, home made everything posts and outfits to match.

Tis the season.

SPACE JUMP.

tee: sportsgirl
jacket: dotti
necklace: sportsgirl
skirt: general pants
boots: myer

Today I'm wearing a mixture of a few pieces I've been loving over the past few week. I have to admit that I bought this skater skirt because the style was hyped. I'm not much of a skirt girl, and when I first wore it I just felt really awkward and schoolgirlish. But, as soon as I figure out how it suited me and wore it a few times (here and here) differently I really fell in love with it. It's one of the most flattering pieces of clothing that I've ever bought - even more flattering than my AA disco pants.

Military boots are the boots (along side chelsea boots and cut out boots) for S/S and I saved myself a chunk of money by pulling mine from a few winters ago out of the wardrobe. They've got a slight heel which I love as it makes them super comfortable and gives me a tiny bit more of height, and even though the boots come high up my calf, I don't feel like they make me look short. I pinched the scarf from my bf's wardrobe when it was chilly last week purely because it was cold and I needed a scarf (where has mine got to?) but it now has a permanent place in my wardrobe (which is kinda the same wardrobe). I love the greyscale take on tartan, and as an anti-red girl, I find it much easier to wear the trend in these muted shades.

MUSCLE TANK.

muscle tank: dotti
skirt: asos
flip flops: factorie (old)

A bit of a change of scenery today. I feel a bit awkward taking my outfit snaps when my housemates are home - it must seem really silly to them - so bf suggested that I take them outside. I love the way the pictures have turned out, but I wish I wasn't as squinty in them.

Today was a really relaxing day, which was perfect as I really needed a slow chilled out day to catch up with what was a very busy overwhelming week. I bought this muscle tank from Dotti last week and have been dying to wear it but the weather was really miserable so today was the first chance I'd had to pop it on. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it and had been really wanted some more tanks and tunics for summer so I snapped it right up. It had foundation around the neckline so I pointed it out to the sales assistant and she straight away offered me a great discount. As soon as I got home I gave it a quick spray with some stain remover and the makeup lifted straight off! Chuffed to bits! Ramble, ramble, ramble. Sorry. I popped it on with this skirt from ASOS (this one is a few seasons old, but here's a link to a similar style for those who have asked). Add bedhead hair and you've got a beachy, but still edgy, summery look.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.

dress: asos
boots: ninewest
necklace: sportsgirl

A few snaps of what I wore to my little brother's 21st birthday party last night. The dress code was casual so I wore with this swing dress from ASOS and this necklace that I picked up from Sportsgirl during the week. I love this dress! It looks great dressed down with sandals and a jacket, but is also really easy to dress up too. The minute that I saw the necklace I knew I had to have it! It's such a gorgeous colour, and I can't get enough of high necklaces at the moment so I knew it was perfect for me. I think it'll look great over a basic tee and denim shorts in summer too.

CUPCAKES.

jacket: missguided
tee: sportsgirl
leggings: river island
necklace: bahaus
shoes: i love billy (old)

A quick outfit post today. I spent the day baking cupcakes for my brother's birthday party tonight. When I asked him what kinda of cupcakes he wanted he said beer, typical little brother response! We talked, and I suggested cchocolate jack daniels cupcakes, and pink champagne for the girls and he aggreed. Today's outfit needed to be comfortable and practical for setting up a cupcake production line in my kitchen so I went with a pair  of leggings, a basic tee from Sportsgirl and this denim pleather jacker from Missguided. Can I jsut say that this is on the the most comfortable and easy-to-wear jackets that I've ever bought. Even though it's denim and pleather it's not restrictive or tight, and is really easy to move around in - love love love.

I look incredibly stressed and anxious (you can say it, it's okay) in these pictures, huh? I've been feeling incredibly anxious this week - which I think is a build up of uni coursework mounting up, doing a few extra shifts at work, and not getting to run as much as I'd like to. Plus, the thought of actually finishing university and moving on from being a student is scaring the daylights out of me. Things are about to change so much and I'm really scared of making the decisions I will have to. Crazy emotions keep taking over and I'm losing my ability to be rational and letting my anxiety take over. Must remember to take a deep breath instead of bursting into tears next time. Any advice for a soon to be graduate?
