MOODY, STRANDED, AND POOR.

jumper: witchery
tanktop: agent ninety nine
jeans: bardot
necklace: diva
watch: timex
shoes: i love billy (old)
nails: essie 'bikini so teeny'

Just a quick post today as I'm currently swamped with course work - it's week two and I'm already behind! I threw on this jumper from Witchery which I have been wearing so often this winter that it's starting to wear through at the elbows. Does anyone know how to stop or fix this? It's dipped hem - great for wearing over leggings - and is sort of a medium thickness making it great for cooler and warmer days. I paired it with my Bardot skinny jeans and a deep green long line tank to create what I'd call my uni-student-mooching-around-the-house outfit. I thought I'd post a picture of my shoes again and these bad boys are, in fact, the offending shoes I've been talking about throwing away for ages. You can see that they're so worn, and thank god you can't smell them! I really really need to throw them away but just can't bring myself to part with a pair of shoes that fit so nicely! What do you guys think?

JULY FAVOURTIES.

I've been using this pronzing powder everyday since I bought it and am completely in love with it. It gives me a natural tanned glow without too much shimmer. I'd never used any products from the Sportsgirl beauty range before but this bronzing powder has converted me! I'm also loving this oil free tinted moisturiser from Laura Mercier. It's a thick creamy formula that goes on easily and gives me a light coverage - which I prefer. It contains an SPF so smells slightly of sunscreen but unlike other moisturisers with sunscreen it doesn't iritate my eyes at all. It's really hydrating and has been doing wonders for my oily combination skin. When I do want a little more coverage I've been picking up L'Oreal Paris Lumi Magique light infusing foundation which gives me a light to medium coverage without masking my skin. It's lovely to wear - light, illuminating, and it lasts all day! I've been favouring Max Factor's false lash effect mascara in brown this month as I really like the natural long lash look that it gives. I neglect my eyebrows - big time! They're very blond and very thin and thus I never really have to pluck or wax them. I've only recently started using an eyebrown pencil and I now see the difference a quick swipe makes to my previously 'just there' eyebrows. Rimel's eyebrow pencil in hazel is the best match for my brows and goes on like a dream. The first few swipes are sheer but it quickly builds up - great for myself as I can be a tad heavy handed. And that's my favourites! What are your current lusts?

CORNFLOUR BLUE.

top: sportsgirl
jacket: dotti
leggings: river island
shoes: betts
necklace: diva
nails: essie 'bikini so teeny'

I am in love with this nail polish! I love all of the Essie summer collection but am completely smitten with the 'bikini so teeny' shade. It's a lovely pale powdery blue and is exactly the same shade as the walls in my bedroom when I was younger. It took me ages (two attempts and many touch ups) to get my nails perfect but this is more to do with my nail painting skills than the nail polish. I thought I'd stick to blue shades today so wore this lop sleeved stripe top from Sportsgirl. I really like the look of the two shades together!

I thought I'd include a better picture of my shoes as you can barely see them in my full length photos. I'm not adventurous when it comes to shoes and only have a few pairs - most of which are black - very unadventurous! I bought this a little while ago and have been wearing them in lieu of my i love billy flats which are wet from a wild night of rain last week. I know I've said it a thousand times before but I will throw these away soon. I'm really glad I bough these flat forms (on sale) at Betts as the are one of the best pair of shoes I've ever bought. They're really comfortable and as they're flat I can still get around on my bike and walk normally - people walking slowly/stupidly/etc is one of my biggest pet peeves! They're still in that new-shoes-rubbing-my-feet phase but what's a little pain for a day or so?

MATRIX BIOLACE SMOOTHING SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER.

Matrix Biolace Soothing Shampoo and Conditioner RRP $29.95 *

I've been using Matrix's Biolace Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner for a week now and am really impressed with how quickly I've seen results. The shampoo and conditioner cleanses and smooths with a customized blend of weightless natural oils leaving air frizz-free and smooth. The smell is divine - it's fresh, clean, and has that just-been-to-the-hairdresser smell that lingers in my hair for a day or two after a wash. I'm fickle with shampoo and conditioner and usually just buy whatever brand is on special at the supermarket when I need too. However, these two have changed my mind! As soon as I got out of the shower after the first wash I noticed that my blonde ends were brighter and blonder than normal. My hair was easier to comb and when it dried (I don't use a hairdryer as I simply haven't gotten around to replacing my broken one!) it looked healthier and had more volume that I've ever seen in my hair. I have noticed a big difference between the weightless formula of this conditioner and my usual conditioner. While thirty dollars is alot more than I would usually spend on everyday products I will be happily splurging on these - I can't even describe how much better my hair looks and feels after using this for only a week!

ROAR.

dress: asos
jacket: dotti
tights: ambra
shoes: betts
necklace: diva
nails: essie 'off the shoulder' and 'fear or desire'

It was actually boyfriend who suggested that I wear this dress today when I was um-ing and ah-ing  in front of my wardrobe. I'm not sure if he actually thought I should wear it, was been silly or just suggested the first thing he saw so that I'd put something on and not stand there for ages. I don't wear alot of leopard print as it tends to be a little out there for my taste but every now and them something comes along that catches me eye. I really liked the fit of this dress (however, as I learnt today it's not a good idea to wear a swing dress on a windy day) and thought I'd take a risk and buy it. Still not sure about the print I thought I'd wear it with black tights (these fleecy ones from ambra are my favourites for winter) and my biker jacket to downplay the print a little. I added a snood (love that word!) before I left as it was chilly (again!) today. Boo!

I added an accent nail this morning as I really wanted to try out another nail polish from the Essie summer collection. While I couldn't call 'Fear or Desire' a neon, it does come really close and is a lovely bright orange. I'm thinking about walking down to American Apparel to have a look at their nail polishes and potentially (read: definitely) adding a few to my (rapidly growing) collection. Do you have an favourite AA nail polish shade? I really like the neon green!

OFF THE SHOULDER.

dress: lax (old)
jacket: dotti
gillet: sportsgirl
tights: ambra
watch: timex
bracelets: diva
shoes: i love billy
nails: essie 'off the shoulder'

I wore this outfit to university on Thursday but in typical student starting back at uni after six weeks holidays style I didn't manage to find the time to blog about it until now. Although I love having a routine, and having to get back into a routine after the holidays I always take a week or two to get my time management skills back. The past few days have been really miserable and rainy so I wanted to wear as many layers as possible but still be comfortable enough to sit in class. I bought this dress ages ago from LAX ages ago at the time it was the most expensive piece of clothing I'd ever purchased but I've worn heaps, throughout all seasons so have got my moneys worth! It was a little longer originally and sat at a really weird length so I had the hem taken up a bit to make it slightly shorter and a lot more flattering. It's a full length, long sleeved shift dress and has fabric draped from the right shoulder down to the left waist so is great for hiding a bloated tummy! I threw on my biker jacket and faux fur gillet (of course) because  I love the combination and the two together keep me really warm - even when it buckets down, which it did! The shoes did nothing when it started to rain (I've made this mistake before!) so when I got home I had soaking wet feet. Granted the shoes are really old and worn and I do keep telling myself to throw them away.

I've never been much of a pink girl before but thought I'd try 'Off The Shoulder' from Essie's Summer 2012 collection as it looked lovely in the bottle. After wearing it for a day I've decided that I AM a pink girl and will definitely be wearing this shade ALOT. I love the contrast between the grey, black and pink.

My skin is breakout city at the moment but I'm hoping that it's just a purge from the new cleanser I've been using. I'm not usually one to worry about covering blemishes up but these buggers are getting to me at the moment. My skin feels really hot and irritated, can anyone recommend a good soothing face mask?

SHE TOOK MY TEA.

t-shirt: sportsgirl
jacket: dotti
leggings: river island
necklace: lovisa
shoes: ninewest
watch: timex

I wore this to work today but I really wish I'd put another layer or a scarf on as it got colder and rainier as the day went on and I was shivering like mad waiting for the tram home - t least I had gloves stashed in my handbag. I don't usually look twice at pinks or purples - I've never been much of a pink girl and the red tones just make my skin look blotchy so I generally avoid the shades, but there was just something about this t-shirt from Sportsgirl (I have it in white which you can read me gush over here) that made me want to buy it. I'm glad that I did buy it as the fit is really flattering which makes me feel more comfortable in a colour I don't usually wear. I'm still not sure about collar necklaces - they just never seem to sit right on me - but I kinda just felt like wearing this one today (you know that feeling?) and I've come around to the style a bit more. I've seen lots of lovely collar necklaces in Diva and Sportsgirl this season so will have to have another look at them! I used Matrix Deep Smoothing shampoo and conditioner, which I received in this month's Lust Have It sample box (see the review here), this morning and I'm really happy to see that it's got alot more volume in the pictures above.

Those of you in the UK must already be over the Olympics already - it's all I've been hearing about this week here so I can imagine it must be much more intense for you there - but I am really looking forward to the opening ceremony! The live coverage starts at 5:30am on Saturday morning but I think I'll wait for the later broadcast as I'm not THAT keen. Are you guys looking forward to watching it?

DE CLASE DE ESPANOL SON LAS CINCO EN PUNTO.

top: witchery
leggings: river island
jacket: dotti
necklace: sportsgirl
shoes: i love billy
watch: timex
nails: essie 'mojito madness'

Popped my River Island ponti leggings on for uni today as they're super comfortable so will be great for sitting on my bum in classes this afternoon. I was looking for a skirt in Witchery when I found this t-shirt late last year and I was instantly drawn to the geometric print. The fit is really flattering and the sleeves are loose which is nice as sometimes I find t-shirts really tight around my arms and it puts me off wearing them. I remember it fitting a little baggier but it still covers all the right places. I bought a size bigger than usual (which should probably be the usual as I do it with most tops) as I wanted that baggy fit. I ordered the Essie summer 2012 nail polish collection from eBay a little while ago and have been waiting impatiently for it to get here so you can imaging how excited I was when I received a picture message from bf that showed them sitting on my bed waiting for me. It took me the best part of an hour to decide which shade to try first. In the end I decided on Mojito Madness which is the shade that made me want to buy the collection in the first place. It's a lovely shade of green - not too pastel or fluro.

THE LAST FIRST DAY.

jumper: sportsgirl
t-shirt: sportsgirl
jeans: bardot
necklace: sportsgirl
shoes: i love billy
watch: timex

Bloggers from the UK you may want to skip the next few sentences. They're about the weather. It was a lovely 17.3 degrees Celsius today in Adelaide - and it's the middle of winter. It felt really weird leaving the house without an extra jacket after the unusually chilly winter we've had. Okay - safe to start reading again. Sorry. Today was my last first day back at uni and I LOVE first days back. Typical stationary nerd that I am I love getting my course information booklets as savouring the clean, crispness of them. I'm always hesitant to make notes in them as I don't want to spoil the newness. I'm sure you can all relate. I also love seeing what people wear to uni as it varies so much. My go-to outfits for uni usually include leggings (of course), over sized baggy jumpers and tops, long line tanks. I usually either wear my black flats (which I promise I will throw away and replace soon!) or sandals. I go for very comfortable - sitting in a tiny chair for hours gets very uncomfortable - and layer so that I can be comfortable if the weather changes. If I wear makeup at all to uni it's usually a light powder coverage to even up my skin tone and a little bit of bronzer to give my cheeks a bit of colour.

Today I wore my current wearing-these-every-day Bardot jeans and threw my Sportsgirl mint pastel jumper over a plain white t-shirt. I was really happy that my new (new to uni!) bag fitted everything in it - course information booklets, textbook, drinks, snacks and all my other bits and bobs. My watch is from Timex, you can just see the face in the third picture. I only recently started wearing a watch and boy did it take me a long time to find this one. I needed a watch with a large face and big numbers that was easy to read so was over-the-moon when I saw this one. It's got a lovely leather band too so feels nice on my wrist.

I'M DATING A ROYAL (I WISH!).

 t-shirt: sportsgirl
faux fur gillet: sportsgirl
jeans: bardot
necklace: sportsgirl
shoes: i love billy
nails: opi 'i'm dating a royal' and 'the it colour'

Another hectic weekend has come and gone in a blur. I only just had time to snap these outfit pictures yesterday afternoon before rushing off out of the house. I didn't even have time to wash my hair - although thanks to a big dose of dry shampoo I got away with it (I use Rockstar's Dirty Weekend for Blond Hair and could not recomend the stuff enough!). I've been wearing my faux fur gillet all weekend as it's great for this unpredictable weather - hot one minute, cold the next. I'm loving my Bardot skinny jeans (you can read about my re-discovery of these here) and paired it with a t-shirt from Sportsgirl's basics range for what I'd call a functional, comfortable, yet still stylish weekend look.

I was tossing up between OPI's 'I'm Dating A Royal' and 'Pampalona Purple' when I was manicuring my nails and in the end the navy won me over - as it usually does! OPI naipolishes are worth the price tag in my opinion as they dry quite fast and are easy to apply. One coat of this one gives a sheer coverage and another coat creates a stronger opaque colour. I used 'The IT colour' as an accent nail to give my outfit a bit of colour.

Are you guys tweeters? I love Twitter and have been using it ALOT recently. I find it great for news and for finding out things going on around Adelaide that I'd previously never have heard about. You can follow me by clicking here, or by searching for @rebeccabrittle.

P.S I got a Kindle today so if you have any book recommendations please let me know and on that note I'm off to read before my lecture.
