AMERICAN APPAREL DISCO PANTS.

jacket: dotti
top: witchery
pants: american apparel
necklace: diva
shoes: i love billy (old)
nails: sportsgirl 'sunflower' and 'all that glitters'

A quick post before I run out to my mid-semester spanish exam. I've been living in my River Island high shine tube pants (you can see them here) and because I loved them so much I bought a pair of the coveted American Apparel disco pants. While the River Island dupes are fantastic (and a fraction of the price too!) there is nothing like the originals. Although, each to their own - I see myself wearing them equally. The AA disco pants are thicker, tighter (but mine have given nicely after two days of wearing them) and have that super high shine that they're known for. Before I bought them I um-ed and ah-ed for months and my biggest concern was that they would be 'too much' for everyday wear and that I'd never wear them. So untrue! While they do stand out, they're really easy to style and I can get away with wearing my daggiest slouch top with them and still look decent!

My advice for sizing (I swapped between two sizes about ten times before I decided which I wanted and quized the poor sales assistant as she was wearing them) would be to get a size smaller than your usual size. I grabbed an XXS when I'm always a XS. The smaller size was alot firmer fitting and while the waistband is incredibly tight and hard to pull over my legs, once it's over my hips it fits perfectly around my waist and the zipper and button do up fine. I've also found that even though they're hard to pull on, once they're on I feel like I could do aerobics in them!

Adios.

SLEEPING DOGS.

t-shirt: sportsgirl
leggings: river island
scarf: seed
shoes: i love billy (old)
necklace: sportsgirl
nails: sportsgirl 'peachy keen' and 'all that glitters'

A quick post to show what I wore yesterday and today. Yesterday morning bf and I hiked Mt Lofty and man and I feeling it today. We treated ourselves to a pie and pastie lunch afterwards, and I spent the rest of yesterday catching up on washing and coursework and have pretty much studied all day today too, hence the very loungey outfit. I love these ponti leggings from River Island, I know I bang on about them alot, but they are really the best leggings that I've ever worn and wash after wash they feel as good as new.

I thought I'd give a big phat shout out to the bf who had dinner in the oven when I got home from class this evening. Although I love to cook (I get antsy watching other people cook - very control freaky) it was nice to not have to worry about rushing home to cook. Thank-you bf.

ON YA BIKE.

A few weeks ago my front bike light stopped working so I ordered a pack of Knog's Frog Strobe Lights. They're weather proof, easy to put on and take off, and they only cost me twenty dollars! Plus, they arrived in this cheerfull packaing - and you know I'm a sucker for packaging. I thought I'd write a quick post to share this aspect of my life, and tell you about my experience as a bicyclist.

Living in a small, flat, sun-shines-most-days city means that a push bike is a great way of getting around. You don't have to wait for busses, trains or trams, don't have to suffer the horrors of public transport, and can ride striaght to where you want to be and, usually, park right outside. Plus, once you've ridden to and from uni, you've already done an hour of cardio exercise. Win, win, win! I haven't always ridden, it was boyfriend who suggested I get a bike - he's an avid rider - and I had to admit it was a good idea. But how dangerous was it going to be? I wheeled my bike out of the store and before I hopped on I said a little prayer and hoped that I would remember how to do it - you're not meant to forget how to ride a bike, so the saying goes! I didn't forget, but I was wobbly and the traffic spooked me. But after thirty seconds I forgot all of that and all that I could think was that zooming along with the breeze in my hair (under a helment of course!) felt refreshing and I felt free. I've become alot more confident since then, but I do still use the footpath on busy roads where there isn't a bike lane. Adelaide has lots of bike paths and bike lanes so it's pretty fuss free to get around, although there is the odd driver who wants to run you off the road. I don't ride everyday, especially in winter when it's  wet, but I can't imagine not riding now. At uni last week a girl in my class asked me how I can ride in my clothes, but I've honestly never worn an outfit that I wasn't able to ride in. The maxi dress was a bit challenging, and there is an odd occasion of knicker flashing when wearing a skirt but you zoom past in a blur so they probably didn't even see anything anyway. I do have a backpack and should probably use it more, but most days I usuaully sling my handbag accross my body (using the shoulder strap) and it works fine. I do have to limit the amount of shopping I do when I'm on my bike, but trust me, when you want those shoes you will buy them and find a way to caryy them home on your bike! Right, now, on ya bike!

PEACHY KEEN.

dress: lax
jacket: dotti
gillet: sportsgirl
necklace: sportsgirl
shoes: i love billy (old)
nails: sportsgirl's 'peachy keen'

I changed my nails again - that's what a boring Saturday night does to you! This one is Sportsgirl (does that surprise you?) and is a natural peach colour. I'm not as in love with this colour as the other couple, but I think it will look nice jazzed up with some glitter chunks over it. I'll be heading back home tonight and am really excited to get home. I really need to do some washing and can't wait to have a shower and use my own shampoo and conditioner!

NO MAKEUP.

tank top: agent ninety nine
jumper: witchery
legging: river island
shoes: i love billy (old)
necklace: sportsgirl
nails: sportsgirl's 'sunflower'

No thanks to the dog barking his head off at 4 in the morning I've had a very bleh day. I threw on my lazy day jumper, my disco pants dupes and plonked myself on the couch and haven't really moved from there since. I haven't done my hair or put any makeup on either. I don't mind going without makeup but man can you see the dark circles around my eyes! Today was a total cbf day. The nail polish is called 'Sunflower' and it's one of the ones I picked up in Sportsgirl last week. It's a shimmery yellow and will be perfect for Summer. It's the same colour as a pair of high waisted luxe shorts that I really really wanted from Sportsgirl but when I went in to get them they had sold out - it was only the day after I saw them in the window. I've been popping in every few days to check if they have more but haven't had any success so far. If anyone knows the ones I'm talking about and see's them in a size six let me know!

FRAZZLED.

tank top: general pants
jacket: dotti
gillet: sportsgirl
necklace: sportsgirl
shoes: i love billy
nails: sportsgirl's 'arctic glamour'

Oh man I look frazzled. I feel frazzled too. I went to Westfield this morning to have a look around. I didn't end up buying anything for myself, but I did pick up a few bits and bobs for my beauty swap buddy. I won't say too much as she might read this! I spent the rest of the day finishing an assignment and am going to veg out on the couch watching Toddlers and Tiaras tonight. There's not much to say about my outfit today. My bad packing has left me without much to wear so it's pretty much the same as yesterdays outfit. I took advantage of mum's stash of cuticle creams and oils to give myself a sneaky manicure. I thought I'd give Sportsgirl's 'Arctic Glamour' a try - it's one of the four (I could have walked out with 10!) I bought the other day and I love it. I'm really digging Sportsgirl make-up at the moment. It's really good quality and reasonably priced too!

BRIGHT AROUND.

t-shirt: sportsgirl
jacket: dotti
gillet: sportsgirls
leggings: river island
bracelets: diva, sportsgirl, dotti, diva
watch: timex
shoes: ninewest
nails: sportsgirl 'bright around'

I could almost make this a spot the difference from Tuesday's outfit huh? Yes. But once you try on these disco pant dupes you'll know why I've been wearing them non stop since they arrived on my doorstep. I seriously don't want to take them off. I'm housesitting at my parents for the rest of the week and I packed quickly (read: forgot lots of things) so I might just have to wear them for the rest of the week. I was browsing Sportsgirl when I fell in love with this coral tangerine nailpolish. It's an amazing colour and is that perfect mix of pastel and neon. I also bought 'Artctic Bright', 'Sunflower' and 'Peachy Keen' and can't wait to try those. I'm planning on sending the morning looking around the local shopping centre tomorrow - living so close to the city is great, but after a while a trip to a Westfield is something to look forward too!

A QUICK REVIEW AUGUST LUST HAVE IT.

For a celebratory box, this month's Lust Have It box was extremely underwhelming. Included this month is TGI's Rockaholic Rock Out Shine Blaster, a hair product that seals hair cuticles to cut drying time and mask split ends, a tanGo Tanning Glove, which I was excited for until I realized it's actually for removing tan, a Model Co Eyeliner, a shower gel, skin lotion and bar soap from Appelles, and a vial of Marc Jacobs new fragrance, Dot.

I really like Marc Jacobs fragrances and have both Daisy and Lola - I even like Dot. But what gets me is that Lust Have It have sent me a sample that I have already gone out and got myself. And, they've even tried to tell me that this is a treat for me as 'it is yet to launch in Australia' and that we're receiving 'an exclusive pre-release of this perfume before it goes on sale in stores'. The perfume was launched over two weeks ago in Australia and is available to purchase in stores. Lust Have It have lied to me and to every person who received this month's box.

Now, I know that subscribing to sample boxes is risky and there is no guarantee that you're going to receive things that you actually like and want to use. However, this is outright lying. I am extremely disappointed, as I have been with all of the Lust Have It boxes I've received, and have already unsubscribed.

This is the first negative thing I had have to write on my blog and I feel terrible about doing it. However, I find beauty and fashion bloggers' reviews extremely helpful and wanted to give my honest opinion in order for other people to make an educated decision when it comes to subscribing to beauty boxes.

TECHNOLOGY 1, ME 0.

t-shirt: sportsgirl
jacket: dottie
gillet: sportsgirl
pants: river island
necklace: sportsgirl
snood: collette
nails: essie 'bikini so teeny'

This is actually what I wore yesterday but last night while I was editing the pictures I clicked something and they all disappeared. I couldn't figure out how to get them back - and I'd already erased them from the camera already - so I had to take them again today. Technology, 1, Rebecca, 0.

I'm wearing my River Island high shine tube pants (read: disco pants dupes) again and I really don't want to take them off - they're incredibly comfortable! I hope you're not sick of seeing them as I'm not sick of wearing them. I wore them rolled up at the bottom this time and I think I prefer them like this as they make my legs look longer. And of course I'm wearing my biker jacket and faux fur gillet combination as it's still really really chilly here. I would have never thought to wear two jackets together to create a new look but now that I've found this one I'm mentally thinking of other vests I can throw over my biker jacket. I think I'll trawl a few op shops and see what I can find!

We've had such a cold winter here and, having moved here from the UK when I was younger, I've really enjoyed it. I love coats, I love scarfs, I love gloves. I love winter fashion and all of the colours that come with it. And I also love winter food!

RIVER ISLAND DISCO PANTS.

disco pants: river island
top: cotton on
necklace: sportsgirl
shoes: i love billy (old)
nails: opi 'black onyx'

They're called high shine tube pants, I call them disco pants dupes, either way, I love them. These dupes are from River Island and are the closest I've found to the real AA disco pants. They're not as shiny as the AA disco pants, but for me that means I can get away with wearing - disco pants aren't as popular here as they are in the UK - yet! I ordered my usualy size and they fit almost the same as the AA ones. If anything, these ones are a tad looser but I wouldn't go down a size. They're incredibly stretchy for thick pants and even thought I feel really sucked in I can still move around easily. I don't have to roll these ones up at the bottom either (hooray for short length!) as I have to do with the AA ones. I've heard that after a few wears these start to split at the seams (this happened to another pair of River Island leggings too!) but so far they're showing no signs of spliting and don't even feel like they will. I wore them today with this dip hem t-shirt from Cotton On and my favoutire aztechy necklace from Sportgirl while I mooched around the house catching on housework, coursework, and blog-work.

I'm sorry that I haven't been able to reply to comments - I volunteered at UniSA open day yesterday and it exaushted me so much that I was in bed almost as soon as I got home - but I have been reading them and will make time tomorrow to reply and check out all of your blogs.
