For a celebratory box, this month's Lust Have It box was extremely underwhelming. Included this month is TGI's Rockaholic Rock Out Shine Blaster, a hair product that seals hair cuticles to cut drying time and mask split ends, a tanGo Tanning Glove, which I was excited for until I realized it's actually for removing tan, a Model Co Eyeliner, a shower gel, skin lotion and bar soap from Appelles, and a vial of Marc Jacobs new fragrance, Dot.
I really like Marc Jacobs fragrances and have both Daisy and Lola - I even like Dot. But what gets me is that Lust Have It have sent me a sample that I have already gone out and got myself. And, they've even tried to tell me that this is a treat for me as 'it is yet to launch in Australia' and that we're receiving 'an exclusive pre-release of this perfume before it goes on sale in stores'. The perfume was launched over two weeks ago in Australia and is available to purchase in stores. Lust Have It have lied to me and to every person who received this month's box.
Now, I know that subscribing to sample boxes is risky and there is no guarantee that you're going to receive things that you actually like and want to use. However, this is outright lying. I am extremely disappointed, as I have been with all of the Lust Have It boxes I've received, and have already unsubscribed.
This is the first negative thing I had have to write on my blog and I feel terrible about doing it. However, I find beauty and fashion bloggers' reviews extremely helpful and wanted to give my honest opinion in order for other people to make an educated decision when it comes to subscribing to beauty boxes.
Rebecca.
They shouldn't be able to get away with lying about the perfume. That's awful.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't feel bad about writing a negative review, you've probably just saved a ton of people from subscribing to this. :) xx
It's horrible. I've tweeted them and had no response. Funny that...
DeleteThat is SO annoying about the perfume, plus its the same sample size you can get from a beauty counter anyways! Seems a bit silly paying for the tiny samples you can get for free yourself :( I'm glad you reviewed the box honestly though, I hate when people big up things unnecessarily xoxox
ReplyDeleteIt is disappointing. If they're sending me samples that I can get myself there is really no point in subscribing. Thank-you, I was nervous about writing this but everyone seems to understand.

It smells great. I've never used an oil on my hair so it will be exciting.
Deletelovely kit! :)
ReplyDeleteApart from the perfume hoo-haa it's great.
Deletelooks like this one is a lovely kit as well :) Thanks for sharing ! I am following. Hope you will check out my blog too
ReplyDeleteOf course, I'll have a look now.
DeleteStill waiting for my Lust Have It to arrive. It's a bit rich of them blatantly lying about the perfume release date - maybe they were printed early? I don't know...
ReplyDeleteAlso annoying about the tanning glove. I don't even wear fake tan...
Even if they were printed early, they know that the boxes arrive around the 20th. If it was a mistake it's going to have cost them alot.
DeleteOh I totally agree. That was just me trying to work out why they'd put the wrong date down. Wish I got the hair oil instead of the wax. -sigh-
DeleteCan I got these all ? <3

They are lovely aren't they.
DeleteI'm not thrilled that they lied about the perfume but the other products are all great.
ReplyDeleteI too was really disappointed with this month's Lust Have It box. I posted a review on my blog saying basically the same thing!
